I won't go to far into a personal project i'm working on, but i was wondering if anyone knew a good site/book/source about the story of Space Mountain, not the technical aspects, but the actual story of the theming. Thanks

See, there are some news stories that are believable even today. But just the way the story was written had SUCKERS written all over it.

I may be able to shed a little light on the subject. Walt Disney had John Hench draw up designs for an indoor roller coaster themed to outer space for Tomorrowland in Disneyland. Hench drew up the plans for what would become Space Mountain. With Walt's death, the idea and plans were placed on the backburner for a few years before resurfacing at the Magic Kingdom.

As has been mentioned 'The Disney Mountains- Imagineering At Its Peak' is a really good source of information.
