A new series of Muppet comic books is planned for release by BOOM! Studios. Paul Morrissey is serving as editor for the series, which is being written and illustrated by Roger Langridge (who had previously created Muppet comics for Disney Adventures magazine). The first issue is planned for release on March 25, 2009.

The initial four-issue mini-series of comics will be based on The Muppet Show. BOOM! Studios hopes to follow the initial series of The Muppet Show comics with Muppet adaptations of classic stories such as King Arthur, Peter Pan, Robin Hood, The Three Musketeers, Sleeping Beauty, and Prince Charming.

Could be reminiscent of an old Sesame Street sketch with Kermit the Frog reporting on the Princess and the Pea. I like the idea, but I would rather see them as "live action" instead of comic book. I think that format works better for the muppets.
