We have not been to WDW since the new changes were instituted for the Fantasmic Dining Package. We always did the FDP at Mama Melrose's when you could just order your regular meal and get the card. Is it worth it now with the fixed price menu? My wife really likes tiramisu, but I could take it or leave it. I also don't really like my credit card charged when I am doing priority seatings and don't know if we could eat all the food that is necessary to get the package. Is it possible to get into Fantasmic with about the same amount of wait and still order off the regular menu? Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you're going to Disney for that first SWW and I'll tell you that it isn't worth doing the package. Crowds in May tend to be on the lighter side(part of the reason I'm even considering a May trip) and you wont need the package in my opinion, so long as you dont mind getting your own seats about 30-45 minutes before showtime. So enjoy dinner wherever (credit card free) and give yourself enough time to be in your seats ^_^
