I'm not a fan. It's another outsourced and expensive restaurant. I know WDW pizza is terrible, but Disney needs to start outsourcing everything and develop their own things.

The new pizza place will be part of the Naples 45 chain. Disney Food Blog did an article on the menus of other Naples 45 restaurants and the prices are a little on the high side.

Raglan Road is a franchise... and a YoPaulie family staple.

Caught your rant on the Live show, and I agree to a point. I am not prejudiced against all outsourced restaurants...They don't get an automatic negative like you give them, sight (and taste) unseen.

Are you also mad that Disney contracts for monorail construction? Or audio-animatronic construction? How about Mousekeeping services?

Yes! Magical Express used to be an "in house" service and that's been outsourced to Bags, Inc and I can safely say the quality of the service has gone down hill from there.

Disney now even outsources their animatronics! And yes, I hate the Planet Hollywood shop at DHS. I mean, when was the last time any of us went in there or even bought anything? It's totally unnecessary.

To me, all this outsourcing leads to an over all worse product. It's like, what makes Disney special anymore? They're just doing things that any other company can do.

This outsourcing business is scaring me. There are a few instances where it has turned out fine, but I think that's the exception to the rule.

Overall I agree. Outsourcing is not a good thing for Disney long term. It may look like a good cost cutting measure now, but you endanger the quality of the product.

I am no fan of outsourcing especially the non-food related things like animatronics and Magical Express

The Yeti is a perfect example of why outsourcing the animatronics is a bad idea. You risk the company you outsourced going belly up and you don't have a way to fix it.

I think food is the only area I'm okay with Disney outsourcing some... if it is do right. Like the pizza place I'm good with, Raglan Road is fine, T-Rex... not so much.

The Yeti wasn't outsourced. Imagineering created that animatronic. What is being outsourced are the "mass-produced" Jungle Cruise style animation.

And, from what I understand, the Yeti works perfectly. It's that the base it was constructed on can't take the strain.

I don't mind the T-Rex even though I know it gets a bad rap around here. The first time I went I liked it, last time it was medicore. I know its loud, but the dinos are fun especially for kids

I was typing up the 2010 Passholder discounts for my site and I noticed one thing... it seems only the restaurants and stores that are outsourced has most of the discounts. Very few Disney run (and maybe none of them are Disney run and I just didn't realize it) have discounts and the only store listed is WOD. The rest of the stores are outsourced.

So perk of outsourcing.... AP discount?

I barely use my AP for dining discounts, as the TiW is where the real discounts are and for that, it's traditionally been tough to find the discounts on outsourced restaurants.
