Well, I have stayed at the DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Villas at the Wilderness Lodge. Though I don't like the Wilderness feel, I felt the room was absolutely awesome. The only rooms I liked better were the Villas at the BoardWalk and the Villas at Old Key West. The location is pretty good, just a boat ride to the Contemporary, TTC, and MK. Overall, though the Villas are different, I thought it was a great resort.

Well, I didn't do much of the extras, but I have heard there is a lot to do there that it is kind of a resort in itself. I have heard that you can go to the roof and raise flags in the morning and receive a special certificate. I believe watercraft can be rented, they have a fireplace that is relaxing, and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong), they offer wireless 802.11b internet connections in a media area, though, I could be wrong on that. As always, check with the front desk, they will give you plenty to do.

There's the Hoop-de-doo Musical Review at Wilderness, no? Plus you're close to MK

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Hoop-de-doo review is at Fort Wilderness campgrounds, not the Wilderness Lodge resort. The Wilderness Lodge does have water taxi access to MK, which is sweet.

Yup, that's correct. Though, it's just a short walk, so I consider the Ft. Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge stuff basically the same.

Electrical Water Pageant, Tour of the Resort

I have seen the EWP from Ohanas but have yet to hear it from outside a building. May try to do this on my later trip this month. What types of tours do they give? I know of a General Tour and a Hidden Mickey Tour. Any others?

Portal says "Disney's Wilderness Lodge offers a great tour to guests and Disney Vacation Club Members to help them get to know the resort better. "Wonders of the Lodge" is a 60-minute tour and is offered Wednesday through Saturday at 9:00am. Join the Lobby Greeter for a guided tour that provides an informative look at the Lodge's history, construction, theming, and artwork."

You must have had quite a view to see the MK from your room.

Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite resorts.

One of the cool things there is that it is the least expensive concierge opportunity. We asked for the upgrade at check in, this was two years ago, and got it for an extra $40 per night. It is not the normal concierge, as there is no lounge. The tables are spaced around the balcony that overlooks the front desk area. The concierge offerings are set up in an area just near the balcony, and just before the hallway to the guest rooms. We found it was perfect for breakfast, and for supper. We ate our big meal at lunch in the parks. There was not a huge selection for supper, and it varied for what was offered.

Also, I love the grounds there, just beautiful. If you get a courtyard room, and leave your door ajar a bit, you can hear the waterfalls at night. It is harder to hear from the higher floors, but very evident from a lower floor.

And, it has two hot tubs, a hot hot tub, and a not as hot hot tub. 8)
