IMO, American Idol should've been a High School Musical show instead. I don't know (or care to know) anything about High School Musical, but I'd rather go and watch a stage show than 3 people sing karaoke. Besides, Disney would've saved the money in the royalties they are having to give to Fox for Idol.

But yes, HSM would be a much better fit for New York Street. I hate how that float disrupts everything on the main street as it goes barrelling through. It's obnoxious.

I think Matt mentioned this before, but it seemed like AIE was a big win/win for Disney. They basically got a newly remodeled theater at no cost (American Idol paid the bill). As far as the royalty deall I'm not sure how all that was worked out; how much does Disney pay the Idol franchise.

Idol isn't a bad attraction. It's okay, but not bad. I feel like it fits DHS's new image, but it's certainly not a top notch attraction like Disney tries to bill it.

I agree with some of you on the fact that sometimes they film "movies" in this area...

And remember, if we did have this space where would they put the Light Show??

I do wish Disney would have more of a working Studio at this point, with movies allowed to be filmed in the Backlot and all.

Maybe we will see a change in the future...

Just keep swimmin'!
