I'm in the same boat although I prefer to call it vertically impaired. :)

When Yoda said "Size Matters Not" he forgot that he could levitate...

I know most people don't care but does anyone know yet if Brian Cummings reprised his role as the video screen announcer? He wasn't used in the promotional video they have on YouTube (click here) and I was just curious if there has been any word. Hearing his voice would definitely feed my nostalgia for the old ride while still getting something new.

I've ridden a few times and it was definitely worth the wait!

Matt, my big question has been this... Because they didn't replace the simulators is the experience still a little dated/jerky? Or did they update the hydraulics systems or somethign to compensate for that?

I thought it felt smoother and less jerky. Also, I loved it!!!! For me, it's the perfect combination of old & new. Nice to see new scenes and updated technology but they kept enough of the original so it feels new and familiar at the same time. The 3D is fairly subtle and doesn't get in the way of the ride. Way to go Imagineers and Disney!!!! You scored on this one!!!!

They modified the simulators to go from 4-axis to 6-axis of movement so yes, it's less jerky. I remember in the old Star Tours when we'd move quickly you could hear the sides of the simulator shudder but it's quite smooth now.

Most of the reviews coming from guests who've experienced the revised attraction appear to be positive. I think this years Star Wars Weekends is going to be a hit and very well atteneded.

How many of the simulators are up and running? I've heard 4 or 6. Any definite word on this?

We've seen 5 working. As of the other day, they were tweaking 6. It was my understanding that the last simulator just needed some more adjustments, so it's not as if it hadn't been converted yet. That was from last Saturday so I'm hoping they can bring the last sim online before May 20.

When we rode on Sunday one of the simulators internal lights stayed on during the ride, another simulator side screen didn't work. At one point we saw them taking a group of people out from one and moving them to another. At one point they were loading all 6

Star Tours didn't open today until almost noon, so I imagine they've been working on this. That's of course the nature of soft openings: allow the ride to run and fix any issues before it officially opens.

Well, after riding it 8 times yesterday, I can say that this is quite an attraction. For reference, I experienced all of the different scenes after my 5th ride. Without giving too much away for those of you who have avoided spoilers, the Geonosis finale is EASILY better than the other two. Not saying that the other two are poor endings but there's just so much going on in this one.

I would rank the endings in this order....

Coruscant
Naboo
Geonosis

I agree that Naboo is probably the best ending from an objective standpoint, but for whatever reason I get a kick out of Coruscant from the entire "landing" sequence

For anyone who's not Henry Work sized, Coruscant is fun when seated in the back row. I was dangling by the seat belt as we fell towards the planet.

This is kinda weird, because not many people seem as entused by Geonosis as I am. You've got Boba Fett, Vader, and an in-progress Death Star, plus an extra little scene with Ackbar and I'm assuming Mon Mothma. Also, with the other two involving Seperatist forces, it seems to make the most canon sense of the 3 endings.
