We're hearing rumors about Star Tours: The Adventures Continue that the pilot of our Starspeeder 1000 will be C-3PO, human-cyborg relations droid.

Of course, this is something I hadn't thought of until now. Rex can't be the pilot any more, since ST2 comes before ST1, and ST1 was his first flight :o

3PO could be an amusing pilot, given how much he (it?) hates space travel..

I think this could be good. I guess I am hoping that the ride experience just blows me away, so 3PO is fine with me.

I heard this as well, at an event I went to last weekend, from a MAPO panel discussion.

Interesting rumor, but i don't think itll be true. I don't think lucas would allow a main character to be that involved in it. I just assumed it would be like RX-23 instead of RX-24

I'd love to see 3PO incorporated into the ride, here's hoping this rumor is true!

I wouldn't mind seeing C3PO as the pilot

Wasn't Anthony Daniels one of the people who let it slip that he was working on video for the ride before they even announced the ride was being updated?

Indeed he was. He's definitely involved in the project, just a question of how much.

Initial concept art and news coming from Destination D shows some of what to expect from Star Tours 2.0. Looks good.

I know it's early, but what I saw from the Star Speeder concept art leaves me a bit disappointed. I was really hoping they were going to incorporate cinosphere technology. It appears they will be keeping the flat screens in place. Maybe it has something to do with the 3-D technology.

The pilot will be a droid named AC-38, or "Ace" for short

So what about the 54 different scenarios? Any idea how that's going to work out? Guess I'll be riding Star Tours a lot. A whole lot... Not that I mind!

It's uncertain what all of the variables might be, but if there are only the two destinations that we currently know of (Coruscant and Tatooine), there could be 27 permutations each, which would easily break down into three "variation points" with three possibilities each. We'll have to wait to find out more.

In other words, no one really knows for sure how it will work

though not the pilot, Looks like 3PO is gonna be a big part. Anthony Daniels and Tom Fitzgerald gives us a little behind the scenes teaser here. Possibly the safety video before the ride?
