OK. What do you consider the biggest shocker in a movie? I think my top three are:

1. Capt Barbossa's return in Dead Man's Chest
2. Luke, I am you're father
3. Mutt being Indy's son

The one that came into my mind first was The Sixth Sense....Finding out Bruce Willis was dead throughout the movie shocked the heck out of me.

C'mon... #3 actually shocked you? I knew it as soon as he hit the screen.

For me, nothing beats Daddy Darth.

Bruce Willis being dead in The Sixth Sense was a good shocker.

Data "dying" at the end of Nemesis.

Ryan turned out to be the old man at Normandy, not Tom Hanks' character, in Saving Private Ryan.

"Rosebud" was a freakin' sled.

And, finally, that Bernie's corpse survived not one, but TWO movies intact and not oozy.

Have to agree with ADP and Paulie. Indy4 wasn't that surprising whereas Sixth Sense blew my mind.

Leia being Luke's Sister. I mean dude.... They made out in V.... And than they are siblings in VI, not to mention that that makes Vader Leia's Father too....

My top 5:

5: Mission Impossible

Phelps was behind it all

4: The Planet of the Apes

It was Earth

3: The Sixth Sense

Bruce Willis was dead the entire time

2: Soylent Green

"IT'S PEOPLE!"

1: Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

"I am your father"

(an interesting fact about this one, to keep this twist a secret, during the filming of this scene, George Lucas had David Prowse say "Obi-Wan killed your father", to prevent anyone except James Earl Jones from knowing the actual line until the movie premiered)

Also, they allowed James Earl Jones to think Vader was lying to Luke, so even he didn't know until it came out :P

The Sixth Sense really irritated me because I unfortunately figured it out right away.

In 1980, when Vader spoke those words to Luke, that was Earth Shattering! So I will stick with as my top one. General Specific and Darth Stitch hit the nail on the head with how even the actors were kept in the dark.

I also Love the Soylent Green reference. ".....PEOPLE."

SW Empire Strikes Back is tops for me.
.....
The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be ...unnatural.

Kevin Spacey "Usual Suspects" "Kezer Soze"

Jerry O'Connell was the fat kid in "Stand by Me" that is shocking

The fact that anyone would want Paris Hilton in a movie that wasn't amatuer porn found on the internet is shocking. The fact anyone would want to see Paris Hilton in amatuer porn on the internet is gross and shocking.

Agree with the Sixth Sense one, and in that same line, at the end of "The Others" with Nicole Kidman, and the end of "The Village" with Joaquin Phoenix. Great endings.

I completely forgot that one! That's a good one too, but I think I'm gonna stay with The Sixth Sense.

Well then...Crystal Skull is still at 71% done... I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread. You should add "MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS" in the title.
