Is there a restaurant (counter service or sit down) that you've never eaten at before? If so, what is it and has there been a reason?

I've never eaten at Toluca Legs because I don't like turkey legs

The reason? We always go to Sci-Fi and 50's Prime Time. Beyond that, we kind of just snack. The hours at the Studios (when we go) usually close at 6, which precludes Dinner sometimes.

You've never eaten at Backlot Express George? :shock: It's the best counter service restaurant at the Studios IMO. Give it a shot, for sure!

Toluca Legs

The reason we haven't dined at these locations was because we just never got around to it. For whatever reason we typically don't do table service at the Studios very often. We've dined at Sci-Fi once, 50's Prime Time twice, and Hollywood & Vine twice.

We typically do counter service at the Studios. I'm not a big fan of the turkey legs either.

I did take my 8-year old to the bathroom, there. It looked cool.

So, Matt, what about a Backlot Express meet at MouseFest? Before or after Star Tours?

The only restaurant I can think of that I've never eaten at was Mama Melrose. My family figured it would be "just another Italian restaurant," and judging by y'alls opinions, it probably is.

Not at all Snuggie, I would say it's probably #1 or #2 best sit down meal at the Studios. Definitely give it a shot.

First, it's not good enough to deserve a meet and I'm not sure we want to eat before going on Star Tours and after we have the PodFest meet to attend.

As far as why, I don't know. We tend to get stuck eating at our "favorites", but we try to do 1 or 2 new places each visit. With the amount of options at WDW, that could take some time to hit them all.

I think most people stick with their favorites. I know before the podcast, I usually ate at the usual restaurants every trip but forced myself to try new places and generally its been a good experience.

Toluca Legs - I can't imagine eating that whole thing and I don't care for dark meat.

ABC Commissary - I'm not sure why, but I always forget about it's there.

Backlot Express - when I take a lunch break, I'd really like some a/c.

Dinosaur Gerties - I would rather not order soft serve, after all the FL. heat will turn it into soup to fast.

Brown Derby - I'm not a good planner when it comes to reservations, so I can never get in.

I'd agree with that. Well, unless your kids aren't like most kids and aren't super-picky. The menu is limited and even for me, I struggled to find something to eat on there (other than steak, which I stray from in the parks since I tend to consume a lot of beef at WDW).

We ate there with our 2 and 8 year old in June. I can't remember exactly what they had on the kid's menu, but they did have one and they had a special dessert for them as well. My daughter was asleep in her stroller when we were seated and they were very accomodating and let us bring the stoller in so we wouldn't have to wake her.

I wouldn't call it the best place for kids, but if its a place you really wanted to try I wouldn't avoid it because of the kids.

You're right Matt, I forgot about the kids menu (duh!). I guess it might be an issue for kids who don't eat off the kids menu anymore but are still picky eaters (tweens, teenagers, etc).

If you can find something at Brown Derby, the food is good and the ambiance is fantastic.

My girlfriend turned me on to the Brown Derby. The food is awesome, the atmosphere great, the only problem I have with it is the prices. $50 a plate? Oy. :roll:
