Finally to end on a rather odd note, Disney has been reported to be looking at adding gambling to WDW once again. Apparently a little known fact I learned on my last trip, is that the original plans for the Boardwalk called for a casino where the Atlantic Dance Hall now stands. When Disney was unsuccessful lobbying for gambling to be legalized on their property, the Dance hall was placed as a quick re-placement.

Now then much more recently, Disney has apparently been surveying guests once again about if they would like some sort of gambling establishment at WDW. Not so surprisingly the response was overwhelmingly negative. It is interesting how Disney has now twice pursued this option. Rumors are had they been successful this second time around Pleasure Island would have gotten this addition.

Ugh,

Does anyone else think this is a bad idea?

Matt, you posted a bunch of rumors this week, but did not cite any sources. None of them sound quite right. Have you been surfing on theonion.com?

Most of these came from Intercot. Sometimes I get lazy with posting that info.

I highly doubt it.

Uhh, I'm not sure gambling at Disney World is such a good idea. I know these days gambling/gaming is legalized and monitored closely, as opposed to times gone by where the Mob ran the casinos. Anywho, I just wouldn't want to ruin the magic by someone losing some big bucks at a casino one night of their vacation.

I doubt it'll happen either but I know folks like my dad who come down wish they gamble. If you're looking for gambling in Central Florida you're stuck with cruise ships that have an average age of 95. I would say there's a demand for it but Disney isn't the company to fill it.

I'm sure there is demand for other vices as well, but you can't be everything to everyone. You just become unrecognizable then.

If the people want gambling, tell them to go to Vegas.

If they stop you at the parks, the question of 'would you support gambling on the walt disney world resorts grounds?' and then if you say yes they ask you if you would support it in the hotels, in the parks, in seperate areas, and how often you think you would go. It's kinda annoying. lol.
