It seems that attendance at the parks is struggling again, and is sinking to the levels of 2 years ago. All parks are developing plans to make cuts, with the aim of not laying off any full time cast or cutting park hours any more than needed.
Some cuts that have already been implemented:
Rehabs progressing at a slower pace (such as the Barnstormer and Plaza Restaurant)
No Cast overtime and hiring freeze
Closing of small food wagons/locations
Moving cast from the most heavily hit areas to the more busy (eg Epcot to MK)
Depending how things go in the coming weeks, there may be more additional cuts including:
Sleepy Hollow and Aunt Polly's Landing are scheduled (as of now) to
close on 16 March 2003
Main Street vehicles going to a seasonal operation
Reduction of FASTPASS attractions (mainly at Epcot and Studios)
Toontown may be going to a 10-6 operating schedule during the slower times
Some entertainment moving to 5 day a week schedule
Reducing character locations in Epcot
Main Street Gallery likely to be closing soon
Downtown Disney shops reducing operating hours
Remember all these points are subject to change.
