Wet ‘n’ wild experience

I knew I wanted to do it. But I know I had to pull out some acting talents if I wanted to pull it off.

It was in 2007 on a trip to Walt Disney World with my mom that I got soaked to the bone at Catastrophe Canyon. But to get there I wanted to play 'dumb'.

I knew I wanted to do it. But I know I had to pull out some acting talents if I wanted to pull it off.

It was in 2007 on a trip to Walt Disney World with my mom that I got soaked to the bone at Catastrophe Canyon. But to get there I wanted to play 'dumb'.

I had been through Catastrophe Canyon many times, but never as a volunteer. I approached a Cast Member at the entrance saying I heard there are volunteering opportunities here. She said absolutely, and asked if I wanted to volunteer. I said YES! So I was whisked backstage and got suited up in water-proof gear like boots, a jacket with hood, and pants.

Myself with three other volunteers were asked the question, "who wants to do the least amount of work?" Knowing this would get me in the "dump of water" spot, I raised my hand quickly.

Now it was showtime. We were welcome to the stage and I sat in the dreaded wet seat….where on the director's command, thousands of gallons of water dumped on to me. The picture is priceless; I'm literally invisible because of all the water.

But the process to get to where I was, was simple. Just make sure you ask the Cast Member at the beginning of the queue that you want to volunteer. Then experience it for yourself!
