Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian may finally have a closing date. The rumor mill is stating that September 10th will be the last day for this attraction's well over due closing. I'm hearing that the date is pretty factual, however "seeing is believing." No words on what may replace this attraction at this time.

September 10th is also just after The Voyage of the Little Mermaid comes back up from refurbish (on the 3rd), and the Studio Backlot Tour goes down for refurb (the 6th).

The attraction was hardly relevant when it opened let alone now that we no longer own the franchise and the next film in the series was not only released by another company but is now on DVD lol

Official confirmation from the HUB. Narnia will close Sept.10.:
The attraction is closing so that we can consider another use for the space.
We continually evaluate and adjust our offerings to provide the best possible entertainment experiences for our Guests
We do not have anything additional to announce at this time.

Por favor mantenganse alejados de las puertas

Allow me to translate from Disney Speak to English

"We're closing it and will put something else in there when we have money for it or someone pays us to put something in there"

I'm on board with that plan, Mark. Maybe add some Doof too.

Traditionally, that area has been used to promote new big films coming out. I believe the first one was 101 Dalmatians (the live action one) so one would think that maybe Disney will showcase there next major film there. I'd say Muppets is a little to soon but something in the summer of next year. Maybe Brave? Possibly The Avengers if they find a loop hole, or Lone Ranger if Disney decides to continue making it.

I think they'll hold off for a bit. They won't be doing Muppets mainly because they have representation in the park. I've always viewed this space as a promotional location for movies that they don't want to build a ride for and don't really want to invest in merchandise or characters for. It's kind of like a pop-up attraction space.

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think we'll see anything to replace Narnia for a while.
