April 2012 will mark the tenth anniversary of Studios Central and it got me thinking about what we can do to celebrate.

My inclination was to do some sort of event in the park such as a private meal in of the venues that can be rented out. There are two issues:
1). Price
2). A date that works for most people

Finding a date that can work for a lot of us (there will never be a date that works for all, we just need to figure out if there's a date that works for a lot of people) is the big key. I wouldn't want to hold it during a time where there's other stuff going on like Reunion or SWW. There's so much else going on during those times that it seems to me like people wouldn't have a lot of free time.

So I'm asking everyone here what their thoughts are. Is there a weekend that makes sense for a lot of us to make it down for? And how much would you be willing to pay for a meal/gathering?

If price wasn't an object, we could rent out the park! But since it is, something smaller should be in order. I;m trying to think of anything of interest opened at DHS in 2002

Wow...first of all...congrats!!!

The early fall usually has some kind of free dining or room deals going on? Maybe a quick weekend would be easy/cheap for most people then?

True, September or October might make sense. Around the time frame of the Tower of Terror race

If they are selling separate tickets for the after party for the ToT 10 miler, why not meet there, you'll have the people already racing and then the rest can purchase the ticket.
If money is a problem, maybe meeting at one of the resorts, just to hang out for a while. Or at the Poly and watch the Water Pageant and Wishes from the beach.

I'd be up for the ToT weekend. I'll be in town. :) Oh! And I want my $20 bucks!

Just throwing this out there, but is there any chance of a Fantasmic dessert party? Could we get Beci or Annette to sponsor something? How many people would we need to make something like this happen? If it's too cost prohibitive we can look at something else like lunch or dinner at one of the TS restaurants.

To do anything like a party at Fantasmic!, probably gonna need either a room block or at least 50 people to bring per person cost down

I'm in if it is the last Saturday in April or later, after I'm finally done becoming a local. And I think its great that Matt volunteered to pay for everyone's meal in honor of the 10th anniversary!
