Are these automatic doors? I'd assume they are.

From what I read on All Ears it doesn't sound like they are automatic.

Animal Kingdom trams were first now they've made there way over to DHS. I'm sure EPCOT and the TTC will soon follow. Not a fan, but I understand why they are needed.

You are correct, they are operated by guests

In my two trips with these at Animal Kingdom, I was less than impressed. While I can hear the insurance bean counters high fiving each other when they came up with this idea, it is one of those things that I will always find unnecessary. Also if my two trips were any indication, it will take longer to load the trams because of how they must be operated by guests.

The CM's are also using a new microphone system to communicate things to the riders, and the mic on the ones at AK kept cutting in and out. It was very hard to understand what the CM was saying as opposed to when they use the hard wire mic from their post in the back.

I'm not at all impressed.

It's amazing that 35+ years prior these were not needed! Seriously, are people just getting more stupid??? I have to say the gates in the loading area of the rides now annoy me more. Not that Disney installed them but because they HAD to install them because of some guests. It's a simple concept people! Do not get on the Small World boats before they stop moving.

OK, I feel better now after getting that after my system LOL

 I know what you mean. Sadly, there are some people that think it's okay to jump off a tram if they drop something and it's an avoidable problem I suppose with the addition of these doors.

Should be noted that not all parking trams at DHS have these doors yet.

wdw followed suit after the doors were added in disneyland. there were some serious problems over here on the west coast with people and in fact there have still been problems since the doors were added. but i will say that more people stay in now because of them vs everyone jumping out when the tram slowed down. thank cal OSHA for their high standards

I agree that it takes longer to load and unload. Also I've seen plenty of people standing, waiting for the doors to "automagically" open  Yeah Disney has spoiled us way to much!!
Por favor mantenganse alejados de las puertas

I always try to push down on the door handle but it's supposed to go up to open. Not sure why I do that
