Has anyone gone to each of the Disney hotels to check out the holiday decorations?

My mom and I have been wanting to try for a few years now. I don't know which hotels have the most decorations worth looking at. Getting into the hotels won't necessarily be the problem, just which ones to view.

Any help would be great.
:) :P :santa: :santa: :santa:

Definately check out the Grand Floridian. They have a beautiful lobby and life size gingerbread house. The Boardwalk and Beach Clubs usually have a really cool gingerbread structures that move. Those are my 3 favorites but all the resorts are so festive this time of year, you can't go wrong visiting any of them.

Well my mom and I had a long day today. We spent some 8 and a half hours going to various hotels. Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Polyensian, Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Yacht Club, walked through briefly to get to the bus (Swan). I think that was all of the hotels we got to.

What exactly is in the Boardwalk Inn lobby? Also where exactly is the lobby? We walked around that area, but I couldn't tell where to get in for the lobby. We came at it from the crosswalk bridge over by Epcot.

If you are on the Boardwalk itself, the lobby is up the long stairs. I think it's actually the 2nd or 3rd floor.

I think it's absolutley worth checking out all the deluxe resorts to view their X-Mas decorations.

I especially liked the Animal Kingdom Lodge's Christmas decorations.

The one that I don't get is the Contemporary. In the past, they've had the Pinocchio display in the lobby, so you can see it when you come in. Now, it's up on the CA Grill check-in level, I think, behind a pillar where you almost have to go look for it to find it.

The Contemporary lobby in general looked almost abandoned when I went through last week. If you come in from the side at night, all you see is a large empty undecorated/unfurnished space with one Christmas tree and a deserted coffee bar. It literally looked like someone had moved out and taken all the stuff.

It doesn't help that when you turn the corner, all the stuff that's there still has that "70's view of the future" look about it.

Thank you, we'll have to head there after Christmas. Hopefully it will still be there. We are going out of town starting Monday and won't be back until Friday.

I saw those stairs but was hoping that wasn't the way in. My mom was in a wheelchair and I didn't notice an elevator, unless it's hiding somewhere under the stairs. I'll have to ask a CM when I get there.

There is an elevator off to the side. If you are facing the stairs, head to the right. It's past the art store down a hallway towards the evil Clown pool. Kind of out of the way.

There are several hidden Mickey's in it. They have a sign up telling how many there are, we took quite a while trying to find them all. It's really cool especially knowing the whole thing is edible!

I ended up with over 100 but I have no idea how to share them on a semi private way. I've read stories where someone posted their pics online and some ad agency started using their pics without permission.

If you give me until after Christmas I'll try and send them through email. Email me your email address and I'll hopefully be able to send some your way.
