I know April and I have talked about going to Hollywood Studios for New Years Eve. Is anyone else interested in coming to DHS to ring in the new year with us?

As of right now we are planning on visiting DHS on New Years Eve; however, I'm not sure we are staying until midnight.

Good question. The special new years eve fireworks will be shot off behind the Sorcerer's Hat. I'd say we need to be holding a spot by 9pm. Any suggestions for a spot?

I would think the best perspective would be from the center of Hollywood Blvd. Can we rent a crane and be lifted above the crowd?
Just throwing this out there, but how about meeting at the tip board at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset?

My main concern is being able to see the sky, as there's lots of trees, buildings and lamp posts in the area of Hollywood Boulevard. I watched the July 4th fireworks from the area behind the tip board (if facing Sorcerer's hat), in the area where character meet-n-greets generally happen (across from Brown Derby restaurant).

Claude and I are probably going to DHS New Years. Only issue is what to do with our newly adopted stray Yorkie, Spike. We watched the fireworks on the 4th from the side of the hat in front of the arches to Animation and the smoking area and that a very good location. Not really crowded and not many trees in the way. Only real issue was that once in a while a stray smoker would wander past....

I would love to go to DHS in NYE, the only problem is that my hubby doesn't have a ticket and I would feel bad leaving him behind...I'll work this week on trying to convince him to go with us.

Put him in the kennel at the studios. Then you can go and visit him a couple of times that day.

Yeah, we thought of that option after my previous post and that may be the best option given we'll need to be at DHS for quite a while that day. Just hope he doesn't freak over fireworks and thunder like our last dog did!!! The cats and birds could care less!

Won't be able to welcome in the New Year at my favorite park :-(
According to the DHS kennel, all spots were booked for New Year's in August. I won't leave Spike alone for 14 (or more) hours and our neighbor is out of town so we can't be there. I'm bummed... Have a great time, everyone and make sure you do a mini trip report giving us all the details when you get back!!!!

I made it back to Florida in one piece... well physically I'm in one piece, mentally I'm shot. I plan on getting to HS by noon. Any thoughts on doing a dinner together or something food related?
