Muppetvision 3D will be closed April 24 through May 14, 2010 presumably for the updates that were announced during D23 expo

According to WDWMagic it says upgrades to the projector system. Sounds like the Sweedish Chef is going to be busy.

Here's to hoping he doesn't also upgrade his cannon to AEGIS

Awesome! I wonder how much improvement that will make to the overall picture quality.

Unless they remaster at the same time, and do some post-production editing and cleanup of the print once it's digitized... not much.

RUMOR ONLY!!! I heard possibilities of the Queue getting an upgrade as well, but this is from the same person who told me they were making a new video all together, which i doubt is true

Given the length of the refurb, I suspect it's probably just a sprucing up here and there.

Well I'm glad I saw this while I was down there. I wonder if "the key" is still under the mat?

I'm glad that Disney is doing this, I was in WDW in March and saw Muppets and was hoping that digital projection would come soon to help enhance the experience. Hopefully they can do the same with the CircleVision Films at Epcot as well as Fantasmic at MK!

Oh great, we will be there on May 19th; when they're finished. Doesn't seem like it will be closed long enough to do anything major though. We love Muppets 3D, so new or old we will be there.

Bump! This is still planned and will be in effect starting saturday, unless something changes soon. It is being claimed as routine refurbishment, so if they have anything new or big planned, the aren't telling anyone including the Cast members

I assumed this rehab was part of the D23 announcement of a digital project. It's not a new film, but better picture. Wonder if they dont consider a new type of film nothing big.

This brings up a question. We saw the key on our trip in Jan 2009 but when we went in Aug 2009 it was not there. The first time it was like it was epoxied. Do the CM's remove the key periodicaly?

To my knowledge, no.
