So we are 199 days until the relaunch of a classic (yes I am counting down lol). So what are you expecting?
Me well a smoother track, new projectiles, on board soundtrack, new queue and post show. (maybe a inversion :D But really I hope they preserve some things to keep that feel of when people first experinced it in 1975.
Tell me what are oyu expectations?
Thnaks.

Double seater ride vehicles, a new soundtrack, and an almost completely new Cast. That's all from me

New ride vehicles, a slightly smoother track, better visual effects and audio. Maybe an update to the queue.

Keep in mind that when the Disneyland version went down for refurbishment, they replaced the track completely and it was closed for almost 2 years. Given that WDW's is reopening later this year, I wouldn't expect anything very dramatic like a new track.

I would like to see new post show scenes. I think the current archaeological dig scenes are disconnected from the rest of the ride. They sort of made sense back when FedEx was a sponsor--I got the whole interplanetary shipping concept, but they have so much potential for something new in this area.

I wonder if they'll open with a new sponsor? The way the economy is going, I doubt it.

What company do you think would be a good sponsor for the new Space Mtn? I always thought Saturn would have been good. Or since Hanes sponsors Rock n' Roller Coaster, maybe Fruit of the Loom will go for Space.

I'm generally ok with the ride portion of SM and don't expect many changes given the length of time the ride will be closed. I would like a major overhaul of the queue and post ride. Both look very dated....

With them moving the exit to the ride and whatnot, hopefully they'll re-do the post attraction scenes like Mr. Disney said above; plus the current ride exit is a bit lengthy, so hopefully that will be shortened as well.

I'd like to see them change up the shuttle and astronauts that you pass on the way up, and hopefully the light and sound effects that may or may not be added will be a bonus while riding the TTA, as passing through SM on TTA leaves a little more to be desired.

They should overhaul the queue on the way in, keeping the classic elements and mixing them with some more updated features.

From what a few people there told me, they are taking the entire track out.

I'd just like an update to the queue and the effects. To be honest, I wouldn't like it if they made the ride smoother, I like how it's kind of rickety.

I agree that the track could use a little tweeking. I don't think the rickety-ness is unbearable but an improvement would help.

I am curious about the effect this will have on queue lines as well.

I just had a thought (a terrible thought for some).
I noticed that a good number of the Space Mountain PINS have.... you guessed it. STITCH!
Wouldn't it be AWESOME if the Space Mountain "reLaunch" had Space Mountain re-themed with STICH!!! ;) :P

If they made the Space Mountain ride Stitch-themed, I think many fans would have a heart-attack. Though I'm personally a huge stitch fan, I know i'm not the majority in my opinion.
Especially with the new Stitch show, I don't think Disney needs to add more Stitch around the park.
Disney wouldn't change a classic ride like SM by adding an animated character. If they did, i think it would be the first sign that Disney has really lost it.

Adding stitch would be a cardinal sin....

The reason he's on the pins is to give a friendly face to an attraction that has no association with any characters.

I love the little blue guy but that ain't happening, especially since he is right outside of the ride now with his Supersonic Celebration
