Team Studios Central (running team) has been rolling through the fall running season. Recently, some team members have participated in local races to stay in shape for that upcoming Disney race or to support a local charity.
On Saturday, November 3rd Team SC runner Shelly Benhoff raced in the Give Kids the World Gingerbread 5k at Give Kids the World Village in Kissimmee, Florida. Team Studios Central has been raising money for Give Kids the World since the team’s inception back in the fall of 2010. To date we’ve raised $1,800 for the village. Shelley got a first-hand look at the village before, during,...
Disney is added some new features to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights for 2012.
Starting this year, guests will be able to meet Santa Goofy each night the Osborne Lights are shown in a special "Goofy's Winter Wonderland" area. This meet-n-greet will be located on the Streets of America.
Also new this year is an eigth song for the Osborne Lights to dance to. This new song is a special arrangement of the classic Christmas song, "Winter Wonderland" by Creative Entertainment Music Director Dan Stamper.
“As we talked about adding a new piece, we wanted to add something lyric and...
Disney announced a new initiative for 2013 called, "Limited Time Magic", where the Disney Parks will offer special events throughout the calendar year to have some extra fun. Included in the announcement is a special event at Disney's Hollywood Studios on Friday, September 13th, 2013 that will celebrate villains.
The event is being called "Unleash the Villains" and will mark this Friday the 13th by keeping Disney's Hollywood Studios open until 1am (the 13th hour, get it?) and hosting a number of Disney Villains at a dance party, complete with limited-edition merchandise collectibles guests can purchase.
The characters slated to be at the party include Maleficent, Captain Hook, Jafar and other villains.
More details will follow as we get closer to the event and you...
Today we're taking a trip in our virtual time machines back to May 1995 and see what a day was like in the Disney-MGM Studios.
In 1995, the guide map cover featured photos from popular attractions in the park, but it tried to show off a few, as opposed today when just one attraction gets the cover spot.
The "Mickey Value Meals" weren't as interesting to me a choice as their price. At $2.49 for counter service and $3.99 for table service, it's a steal. It also shows you how much value the dollar has lost...
In less than a month, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights begins at Disney's Hollywood Studios and we want you to join us for the first night of the year so we can enjoy the lights together.
Our plan is to meet up before the Osborne Lights turn on, enjoy the ceremony that turns the lights on and the walk around and enjoy the ambiance of the Osborne Lights.
When: Friday, November 9 at 5:30pm
Where: Meet in front of the large Christmas tree that is across from Youse Guys Moichendise on the Streets of America
We're looking forward to hanging out with other fans of Studios Central and enjoying some time in the parks!
If you're planning on coming, let us know by RSVPing on...
It's always fun to take a look at the history of Disney's Hollywood Studios and today we're going back twenty years to October 19 through 24, 1992 at the then-Disney-MGM Studios.
The first thing that has to strike you about this times guide is the colors. Compared to today's times guide, the 1992 version is completely different. Gray and salmon are the predominant colors and it looks a little cartoony. Also worth noting is the park was only open to 7pm in late October, which today would seem like rather short hours.
As we reported back in August, Disney has rolled out free WiFi internet access to its guests at Disney's Hollywood Studios as of yesterday.
Guests can now log in with their wifi enabled smartphones, tablets or other devices to access the Internet while visiting the park. Guests must accept Disney’s terms of service in order to access the free wi-fi service.
Disney's Hollywood Studios is the third theme park in Walt Disney World to offer free wifi, following the Magic Kingdom and Epcot which began offering wifi earlier this summer.
The Tower of Terror 10-miler is this weekend and here's a list of the food, entertainment and merchandise options at Disney's Hollywood Studios that will be open.
