We posted some Citizens of Hollywood news yesterday that we heard about that I was confident was accurate. Turns out a lot more is going on in Hollywood these days. One of our Studios Central bloggers shared with me more rumors he had heard. I think it's worth passing along if it's true, but assume these are rumors until we get further verification.

  • Vladimir Pooey will also be one of the yet to be named directors with Alberto Dante the new unknown experience going to the Streets of America. This new initiative is still in the very early stages on the drawing...

Today we take a look at a faction of the Citizens of Hollywood - the Hollywood Public Works - as they play a fun interactive game with kids.

Be sure to keep an eye our for upcoming Bench Blogs, where we will be featuring and paying homage to individual Citizens and characters, as big changes are coming to Hollywood.

Some not-so-great news coming out of the Citizens of Hollywood Human Resources department.  We've learned two current Streetmosphere characters in Hollywood Studios will not be around as much, if at all.

Otto Von Bonn Bahn, the eccentric German director, indicated on his personal Facebook page that April 17th will be his last day in a full time role and afterwards, he will regress to a part time role to fill in for other citizens when they are on vacation.

While we will still Otto from time to time, we're hearing...

Until now, there was no posted schedule for the hillarious Citizens of Hollywood (commonly known as streetmosphere characters).  They were predictable enough, but Disney would not post their schedule of apperances until now.  Starting this week, Disney has started posting the Citizens of Hollywood times in the times guide to let guests know when to expect them.

While it's nice to have the posted schedule, you can still bet on seeing them on the opposite half hour of Disney...

Some quick notes based on this week's photo update

  • This was the first Sunday in a long time that did not have Fantasmic! shown and it was quite a difference!  It's amazing how different the park feels on days when Fantasmic! is not being shown versus days where it is being shown.

If you are seeing Fantasmic! this week, it's being shown today and tomorrow, and when you have consecutive days of Fantasmic! being shown, go for the last show on the second day for the least crowds.

  • Speaking of beating the crowds, if you're looking to see Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show on a day when there are three shows...

With spring in the air and the weather warming up, many of us are looking forward to Star Wars Weekends already and while we have the dates announced, we still don't know all of the celebrities that will be in attendance.  What's taking so long? And when will the celebrity list be announced for 2011?

Booking these celebrities for Star Wars Weekends is a long process and coordinating schedules is never easy.  Even though many of the celebrities we see each year at Star Wars Weekends have been coming for years, each year presents a new challenge for Disney...

For fans of Vinylmation, there's two new Hollywood Studios figures from these collectibles coming soon.

Two figures have been created, a 9-inch Vinylmation figure featuring Toy Story Midway Mania and a 3-inch figure based on the Earful Tower.

The Toy Story Midway Mania figure was designed by Lin Shih while the Earful Tower design was created by Jason Zucker (who can be found daily inside the Sunset Couture store on Sunset Boulevard).

For fans of Star Wars Weekends, there will be much to look forward to in 2011.  This annual event is set to have its largest footprint ever.

We're hearing that Disney has finally approved plans to install a stage in front of the Sorcerer's Hat that would be the home for some of the more popular events such as the Hyperspace Hoopla.  The past few years has seen the Jedi Training Academy stage become overwhelmed with guests in popularity trying to see events held there.  Due to guest demand, the stage will be set up in time for Star Wars Weekends and will remain through...

The character line up at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be undergoing some changes by the time May rolls around.  We've heard of some interesting changes that are coming and dates of when to expect these changes.

  • Lotso Huggin Bear will be replaced by Winnie the Pooh in the Magic of Disney Animation.  Pooh will debut on May 16, 2011 in a meet n greet area that is expected be rather intricately themed.  We've heard the meet area will look like Christopher Robin's room and feature some nice animated aspects.  Expect a few days of downtime in the transition period due to deconstruction and...
