"All of Hollywood Studios that's fit to print"

We reported on Twitter yesterday that Journey into Narnia will close September 10 permanantly and from what we can gather, this report is still accurate.

Journey into Narnia has been rumored to close a few times before, but crowd capacity issues have kept it open much longer than anyone ever thought it would.  This walk-through attraction has historically been the home of glorified feature film previews that help generate hype for an upcoming Disney film release.

No word yet on what will replace Journey into Narnia once it does close.

The DisneyParks Blog has just posted a quick look behind the scenes at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the show's debut on 25 August, 1989.  The video includes a look at the rising spikes from the beginning of the show and the leap from the top of the building in the Cairo marketplace.

Our friends at TouringPlans are reporting Fantasmic! will have a show every night through the rest of 2011 and through March 2012 (excluding it's refurbishment in January 2012).  While we aren't seeing it quite yet on the official Disney World calendar, we trust TouringPlans with our geek lives.

There are a few exceptions. The following nights are when there will not be a showing of Fantasmic!

Disney has released on its Star Tours web site "exclusive Star Tours printables" for you to download.

These printables allow people to download and print a Star Tours poster. Next week, Disney.com will release Star Tours coloring pages to help entertain the kids in the family.

Back for another WDW Photography guest post here on Studios Central. Cory and I are really enjoying these articles and being able to focus on some Hollywood Studios photography, hopefully you are enjoying reading them also! We have lots of future ideas in mind, in fact Cory is at Walt Disney World this week and mentioned taking photos at Hollywood Studios specifically for future articles.

For this week I wanted to showcase some photos of the Citizens of Hollwood at Hollywood Studios. People who follow my photography on flickr and on WDW Photography will know that I am a huge fan of the Citizens of Hollywood cast. In fact, the majority of my photos from Hollywood Studios include the citizens in...

I read a rumor over the weekend that I thought I'd pass along to others who are looking forward to meeting some characters on their next trip to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The rumor, provided by David Harrison, claims a Cast Member told him that the Little Einsteins character meet outside of Disney Junior - Live On Stage will be replaced with a chararacter meet-n-greet from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Assuming this is true, the changeover should happen sometime in October.  I should of course caution everyone that this is still a rumor and not confirmed.  There's also no word of what fate the Little...

I first want to thank Matt for giving Cory and myself the opportunity to write an article each week on the Studios Central blog. Cory got us off to a great start last week showing some great photos from the Tower of Terror. In order to capture those shots, Cory used a tripod, a dslr camera and a fisheye lens - which is not something the average guest is walking around with. So this week I decided I would show you some photo examples that were taken with a basic point and shoot camera, something most everybody has when on vacation.

While we at WDW Photography do not normally use point and shoot cameras, I made the decision last August to leave my expensive gear behind and toured the parks with just my...

Today's guest blog post is by a very talented photographer in the Disney Internet Community.  His photos are beautiful and you may have seen his work around the net, but I'm happy to welcome Tom Bricker for today's guest blog post on Studios Central!

Imagine driving into California on Route 66 and seeing a giant orange. A giant puppy. Heck, even a giant dinosaur. Now imagine that each of these were fast food stands; from a window in the orange you could purchase orange juice, from a window in the puppy you could purchase hot dogs, and from the dinosaur you could purchase ice cream.

In the 1930s and 1940s, if you were...

We posted this morning a photo update of what's new in Hollywood Studios this week and I paid special attention to look at Disney's Hollywood Studios Restaurant Dining Menus to look for changes.  Sure enough, there's been a few changes to the menus since our last check so here's what's changed.

  • Barbecued Pulled Pork sandwich replaced with Barbecued Pork Sandwich
  • Turkey leg only removed from menu

Back in April, I blogged about Bucky Greenhorn leaving to join the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue ( http://www.studioscentral.com/blog/2011/04/15/studios-says-aloha-bucky-greenhorn    .. Bucky G)) I recently had the delightful opportunity to attend a dress rehearsal for another Hoop Dee Doo, to see some new changes to the show and some new faces, including that of Melvin Macheezmo! Now, before you get you knickers in a twist, let me calm you by saying Melvin is not moving in with his best friend Bucky and leaving Hollywood. He will still be roaming Sunset Boulevard, humoring guests and fawning after Miss Paige Turner. Melvin is joining the cast as a "sub" for the...
