It's no secret that the second half of December is a very busy month at Hollywood Studios, with Christmas and New Years crowds flocking to Walt Disney World for annual vacations.  But the 2011 Christmas season is off to an even busier start than anyone at Disney could have anticipated.

Crowds have been so big at Disney's Hollywood Studios that we're hearing reports that the predictions Hollywood Studios management have been off by as many as 10,000.  This has already lead Disney to add an extra hour to the park hours on Monday and Tuesday and we're now hearing that all attractions Cast Member schedules have been changed for the next two weeks, where Disney...

Two new food kiosks have popped up around Disney's Hollywood Studios to help spread the crowds around for the week of Christmas and New Years.

Returning to the Backlot area is an Italian food kiosk located near the exit to Muppet Vision 3D and the Phineas and Ferb meet-n-greet area.  This Italian food kiosk had previously appeared in the same area last year and offers a similar menu of basic pasta and soup.  As is also last year, this is a recycled Epcot Food & Wine Festival booth and is called "Ristorante Italiano".

Disney has greatly expanded upon its Fantasmic! schedule for performances in December 2011.  As is typical for Disney these days, they put out a paltry schedule months in advance and a few weeks before the given month rolls around, the schedule is expanded.

Of particular interest is that from December 26 through December 31 there will be three Fantasmic! shows per night.  This is a return to the schedule we had seen in past years, although in 2010 there were only 2 shows per night for that same time period.  Prior to the cutback in Fantasmic!, 3 shows per night were common place during the week...
