Jennings Osborne, the man responsible for the creation of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, has died today from complications following heart surgery performed in April in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Osborne suffered a stroke and heart attack in August 2010 and doctors decided to go ahead with surgery.
In a statement, Jennings' daughter Breeze remembered her father fondly, "My father was an amazing man who all my life showed what a big heart he had for everyone, young and old and regardless of background or wealth. Sadly my father's big heart finally gave out. But knowing my 'Dadoo', there will be fireworks at the gates of Heaven. We want to thank everyone from Arkansas and across the country for all their well wishes and prayers. It meant so much to my dad, me and my mom."
Jennings created the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at his home in Little Rock, Arkansas in the early 1990s for his daughter Breezy. The light display quickly grew in size and magnitude and his neighboors compained. Walt Disney World stepped in and offered to give Jennings' creation a home at the Disney-MGM Studios.
