When you combine two young children and must-do thrill rides at Hollywood Studios, you get child swap... or you just don't ride. While I've made it clear in a previous post that I will only child swap for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (I just think it takes up too much precious park time for both parents to ride separately), my husband sees things differently. He really likes to ride the thrill rides at each of the parks. So, while he gets to ride Rock 'N' Roller Coaster (RnR), I get lots of uninterrupted husband-free shopping time (ie. the best kind of shopping!).
I thought I'd spend some time this week discussing my favorite places to shop at the The Studios and let you know why I like shopping there. I will stick to the Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard area, since that is as far as I usually venture off while my husband is riding RnR. I have to say, the shopping in this area of The Studios is some of my favorite, because in just a small area, you can find some great treasures that aren't always available at a lot of the shops in Disney World (of course Mouse Gear [Epcot] and World of Disney [Downtown Disney]) don't count.
Let's start off on Hollywood Boulevard. As you walk down this street, on your right-hand side, you will see Celebrity 5 & 10. If you're like me and love to adorn every inch of your home with Disney decorating, this store will appeal to you, too! You will find plenty of Disney kitchenware and general houseware here. Not only do I like shopping here for myself, but I've bought numerous houseware gifts for loved ones here, as well.

On your left side, you will find one of my favorite places to shop for Disney clothing: Keystone Clothiers. The clothing selection here is phenomenal! It's not just the typical "Walt Disney World (insert year here)" type t-shirts, either. The clothing here is more fashionable, and less souvenir-ish; things you would actually wear out in "the real world", and not just in Disney World. You can find nice accessories here, as well.

If you turn right onto Sunset Boulevard, on the right-hand corner, you will find my favorite place to shop for my kids: L.A. Prop Cinema Storage. It has the cutest little toys, articles of clothing, hats and accessories for children. I usually buy both my children an outfit from this shop, because the stuff is just too cute. Again, it's not just the typical Walt Disney World souvenir shirts. There are really cute character outfits that I would put on my kids for dressy occasions at home. They also have a great selection of children's hats.

Lastly, I love Tower Hotel Gifts. This is the gift shop found at the exit of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (my favorite ride!). I love looking at all the items I can bring home and use around the house that will remind me of my favorite Disney World attraction (ie. bath towels, bath robes, glass ware, to name a few). Not only this, but the exceptional theming of the the attraction itself, is very seamlessly carried over into this gift shop.

So, next time your partner is off doing their thing in the Studios, take some time to pop into these fabulous shops for some uninterrupted Disney shopping time!
